1. What is the Best Way to Fix a Leaking Pipe?
The best way to fix a leaking pipe depends on the location and severity of the leak. Some common methods are using rubber pipe connectors, pipe clamps, epoxy compounds, or duct tape to seal the leak temporarily. However, these are not permanent solutions and may require professional assistance to repair or replace the pipe properly.

2. Can You Stop a Leaking Pipe?
Yes, you can stop a leaking pipe by shutting off the main water supply valve and draining the remaining water from the faucets. This will prevent further water damage and wastage until you can fix the leak. You can also try to seal the leak with some of the methods mentioned above, but you should always consult a plumber for a permanent fix.

3. Why Do Pipes Start to Leak?
Pipes can start to leak due to various reasons, such as corrosion, high water pressure, temperature changes, clogs, faulty installation, or physical damage. Some of these causes can be prevented by regular maintenance and inspection of your plumbing system, while others may require professional intervention.

4. What Should I Do If I Suspect a Leak?
If you suspect a leak, you should first try to locate the source of the leak by checking for visible signs, such as wet spots, stains, noises, or smells. If you can’t find the leak, you can use your water meter to detect any changes in water usage after turning off all the faucets and appliances.

5. How Can I Prevent Future Leaks?
You can prevent future leaks by taking good care of your plumbing system and avoiding some common mistakes, such as overloading your drains, using harsh chemicals, ignoring minor issues, or DIY-ing complex repairs. You should also schedule regular inspections and maintenance by a qualified plumber who can detect and fix any potential problems before they become worse.

6. How Can I Tell If I Have a Leak?
You can tell if you have a leak by looking for some of the signs mentioned above, such as wet spots, stains, noises, or smells. You can also use your water meter, water bill, or food coloring to detect any changes in water flow or consumption that indicate a leak. If you have a toilet leak, you can add a few drops of food coloring to the tank and see if it shows up in the bowl after some time.

It has been two years and we love our John Wood water heater!Tom and his Capital Plumbing install team were quiet, efficient, friendly and cleaned up the area well following install. At the same time, all sinks had an easy-to-use shut-off valve added beneath for safety in case of water emergency, a water line for future refrigerator was installed and they threw in a new, safe hose attachment for the clothes washer to replace the aging rubber. Never even thought of it. You never want a water line to burst!

Great experience. Capital plumbing was able to get me in within 2 days whereas all other plumbing companies I called couldn't get me in until next week. I was late returning Toms call, so he took the liberty of doing an inspection on my home and flagged a couple more issues before fixing the one I called about. Really appreciate his diligence and customer service!

A couple of weeks ago Darren replaced our hot water tank after it burst. Capital was so quick to respond and Darren was very good. He helped with the flood we had from the tank. Within a few hours we had a new water tank installed. Today Daniel came back and did amazingly replacing our sump pump and cleaning our furnace and humidifier. He is very thorough and did a great job explaining our issues. Thanks Capital plumbing and heating for always being there for us and having the best employees.
