In 2019, I was fortunate to be able to purchase Capital Plumbing & Heating after being the GM for 10+ years. I wanted to be able to retain the awesome staff and continue to serve the best customers while being known as a company that specializes in fantastic customer service; a company that can help and solve problems with plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and maintenance of your home.
Some of the best advice I was ever given was to care about people and that has become my personal philosophy that I bring to every aspect of Capital Plumbing & Heating. I love being able to help everyone who works at Capital reach their goals as well. We work hard to create an environment that recognizes achievement, family, personal goals, and the accomplishments of our team and their families. This philosophy extends beyond our Capital family. We are supporters of Valour Place, Basically Babies, Parkland Food Bank, SPCA/Humane Society, Kinette Club of Spruce Grove Christmas Hampers, and for the first time beginning in 2023, we have created three scholarships for students graduating high school through the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) in our area. We will expand these scholarships annually to assist young men and women in entering the trades and can’t wait to provide apprenticeship opportunities when available.

Kevin and Tom did an excellent job at my moms house checking her furnace, doing safety checks and installing a new faucet and shower head in the main washroom. They double checked everything and made sure they did everything properly.
Kevin was very efficient and did an excellent job. He double checked things and made sure everything was done properly. I have had Kevin at my moms house and at my house. He is always very pleasant and competent. During this Covid 19 he was very respectful of my elderly mom and reassuring that everything was going to be done properly.

Tom was able to unblock the kitchen tap after a new hot water tank was replaced. He worked diligently and cleaned out the line. He installed a new pump and flap in the main washroom so that it would substantially reduce the water bill as it was leaking. He was very patient and thorough. He cleaned up every place he was and wore a mask to ensure safety protocols which was appreciated.

Jesse and Scott did a all around check of my house and furnace. They replaced the anode rod in my hot water tank, flushed the tank, installed shut off valves because of my toilet leak and new humidifier pads. At my mom’s house they installed a new toilet and bathroom tap. The toilet was constantly running causing an increase in the water bill. Both men worked diligently and efficiently. Both were very pleasant and on task to get the work done.
He was very friendly and polite and was most willing to help in any way.
Great service.
We have had numerous issues with our house and have always used capital plumbing and would never go anywhere else…

Today, we had Vince to deal with a small leak. Once again a great person to have on your team.
Sadly, Braydon is a Flames fan.....wasn't sure I should let him in, but relented....GO Oilers!
- they didn’t do the work the first time they came
- I had to call them six times to get them to finally listen and come back without charging me even more
- the tech complained to my wife that the job was underquoted (even though the quote was given on site after a thorough examination of our system)
- I have no way of checking whether he did a good job or rushed through it because he thought we weren’t paying enough
I give 3 stars because the job was eventually completed but I had to hound them and argue to get them to do the job they originally agreed to for the price they quoted. If you want the full story, read on.
I asked them to come give me a quote for a water softener and descaling - they originally told me it would be a free quote and then tried to change that to be $100 for a “service call”, which I had to argue to avoid.
The tech was friendly and helpful, so I agreed to do the descaling for about $500. After maybe 45 minutes he said he couldn’t do the descaling because he didn’t know if the unit was designed to be descaled, and he admitted he didn’t really do anything for me. He charged me a reduced price but still over $250, and I didn’t think I had any choice. After he left I called the boiler manufacturer and within 10 minutes found out it should be descaled.
It took two weeks of me calling over and over, speaking to different receptionists and hearing various reasons they couldn’t do it yet or couldn’t confirm a price and then they would just stop calling me back. Finally I was told I would have to pay the full original price on top of what I already paid. I said that was unacceptable because all I am asking is for them to do what they originally said they would do and I am willing to pay the difference.
I was told a manager would reach out to me to discuss. Mid afternoon I called again and was told he had just stepped out but would call as soon as he got back. Finally the next morning he called back and agreed to do what I was asking, and a tech came the next week. The tech was at our house for about 1.5 hours and complained that we were underquoted but still honoured the price.
They even returned on a courtesy after my initial appointment to validate everything was working. Thank you!!
